This brochure gives an update on the implementation of two instruments intended to coordinate national programmes. It covers ERA-NETs and Article 169 activities (although to date use of this second option has been minimal).

In particular it suggests that they are likely to be reinforced in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), with the implementation of ERA-NET Plus.
