Abstract

The partners will demonstrate and optimise a novel CHP plant based on biomass gasification on a full scale (13 MW thermal input). In this plant two biogas, fueled engines produce electricity (4 MWe) from gasified biomass. While the district heat (8 MWth) is produced in various heat exchangers. The BGGE CHP plant will be built at an existing CHP plant in Lemvig, Denmark.

Since this is the first time that some of the main plant components will be built and integrated on this scale important aims of this project will be the process optimization and demonstration of the integration. The ultimate goal is to make this technology competitive with the power plants based on fossil fuel.

Consortium

FLS Miljo (DK) is the project co-ordinator. Other partners are Lemvig Varmevaerk A.m.b.A. (DK), Carbona Inc. (FIN), Jenbacher AG (A), and EnergyPower Resources Ltd. (UK).
