Contract No: NNE5/227/2001
Project Type: CSC (Cost-sharing contracts)
Start Date: NNE5-2001-00227
Duration: 36 months
Total Cost: 1,710,000 EUR
EC Contribution: 589645 EUR
Scientific Officer: José Riesgo Villanueva

Abstract

The project aims to optimise the biomethanisation of all organic matter resulting from agricultural activity (liquid manure, manure, grass) to produce energy for an average unit cost of less than 0,05 euro/kWh with small-capacity energy- producing systems (100 to 150 kWe).

The biomethanisation of agricultural biomass will favour the diversification of agricultural activity. The project intends to demonstrate the efficiency and economic viability of the system by improving the management and flexibility of the "stand-alone" operating periods and the periods linked to the electric medium voltage grid (80 to 90% of power). The project intends to optimise the valorisation of calorific energy produced (more than 50%). Setting up the project in the Natural Park goes along with the Parks' philosophy (respectful development of the environment).
