Abstract
This project will develop a highly innovative 'Supercritical fluid' processing technology that will enable European industries to develop and manufacture, in a highly controlled manner, advanced multifunctional biodegradable materials that posses consistent and well defined physical and mechanical properties, chemical composition, porosity, and degradation profile. This technological advance will be realised through addressing the scientific and technological gap between fundamental academic research and industry and through further developing advanced process control methodologies. The innovative processing technology developed within the project will also be designed to enable efficient integration with existing extrusion and injection moulding machines found throughout European industry.
