Abstract:
Cork oak is important in the southern part of the EU. Knowledge of the genetic structure of cork oak is needed for improvements in growth, quality and disease resistance of cork.

This Concerted Action will prepare joint provenance tests of cork oak, with genetic material from the relevant geographical range and with trials located over a wide part of the geographically relevant range of the EU. This includes the provision of a data base and exchange of seeds for the trials.
