Abstract

Today, renewable energies in the EU are unevenly and underdeveloped, neglecting a sizable market potential, representing barely 6% of the gross domestic energy consumption. Biomethanisation is one of the important underdeveloped energy resources.

The prime objective of the project is to considerably increase the valuing of agricultural biomass to generate electrical and thermal energies. The second specific objective of the proposal will be to organise a number of awareness campaigns for the potential stakeholders who are the farmers, the entrepreneurs, the investors and the public decision makers.

Another general objective of this proposal is to eliminate the legal and administrative barriers to the development of projects after an in depth analysis of interactions between the main "parameters" which are the proposed technical approach, the financial resources, the necessary investments and the administrative procedures.

The direct expected results of this proposal are:

• to increase the awareness of the different actors of the agricultural biogas channel/path which are the farmers, the bankers and financers, and the authorities responsible of the support of the projects
• the realisation of pre-feasibility studies of the more relevant selected projects to show the chance of success of the channel when all conditions are together in a common will of success
• to prepare a selection guide of the best methods applicable for the implementation of model biomethanisation projects accompanied by a description of the best realisations throughout the EU
• dissemination by different means like seminars, workshops, publications, public presentations.
