OBJECTIVE:

The proposed action aims to:

1. Coordinate current research work in the field of forestry using methods based upon the development of a common protocol of analysis of the working sites.

2. Propose more productive and more environmentally friendly methods, in particular in the mountain forests or on slopes.

To achieve these objectives the following will be organised:

1. A meeting of exchange and of planning of work

2. A work seminar to present, discuss and evaluate the results of current research and to define draft harmonised protocols.

3. A seminar of discussion and evaluation of the results of current research and of validation research of the harmonised projects.

4. An international seminar on the topic 'more environmentally friendly forestry use technology', bringing together the scientists and all the partners concerned with forestry management (elected representatives, tree growers, forestry owners, associations of nature conservancy, equipment manufacturers...).
