Contract No: NNE5-1999-00366
Project Type: CSC (Cost-sharing contracts)
Start Date: 01-10-2000
Duration: 36 months
Total Cost: 6,000,000 EUR
EC Contribution: 2,100,000 EUR
Scientific Officer: Kyriakos Maniatis

Abstract

Utilization of by-Products plays a key role for further development of co-combustion. As residues from co-combustion are not include in European norms, a review of the European legislation an ash disposal or national amendments are urgently required.

It is the aim of this project to provide sufficient data about the properties of co-combustion residues in order to promote a review of European legislation, to initiate national amendments and to indicate further utilization possibilities. The project and testing will concentrate only on those parameters, which have been agreed to be realistic for large-scale application.

Consortium

The project consortium consists of six partners, as indicated below, from different areas in the fields of power production, energy research and analytical laboratories.

  • Universität Stuttgart (D)
  • Vattenfall (S)
  • Tech-Wise (DK)
  • Verbund-Umwelttechnik (A)
  • MPA - Labor für Materialprüfung und -analyse (D)
  • National Technical University of Athens (GR)
